The Preserve at Rock Springs Apartamentos

The apartment layout is spacious and modern, and I love having access to walking trails right outside. The location is also fantastic, with shopping and recreational spots nearby.

However, communication from management can be confusing at times, and there have been frequent maintenance issues. That said, the maintenance staff is friendly and responsive, always doing their best to resolve problems quickly.

Overall, a great place to live with some room for improvement in management and... maintenance consistency. Lee mas

Overall, quite nice. The administration and maintenance people have always been pleasant and upfront with me.
The grounds are well maintained, snow removal is prompt, and normal repair/replacement work can take a while, but is attended to.
I like The Preserve and would recommend it to others.

My family and I rented here for two years. They will make false claims when signing the initial lease agreement. When it’s time for the initial agreement. When it was time for the lease renewal my wife and I were told our rent was going up significantly. The second year, we had the luck of having a teen neighbor who liked to have parties late at night that kept our daughter up late at night. We reached out to the office multiple times in an effort to remedy this situation however nothing was... done. A couple weeks later, we received a fee because apparently we didn’t pick up dog waste on the grounds. We do not own a dog. Frustrated, we asked about our options to vacate our lease early. We were told that we had to “buy out of our lease”. We decided to endure the remaining months of our lease because we couldn’t afford the astronomical amount they decided was fair. Throughout my life I have rented for 21 years, so I’m no rookie to apartment living or management ethics, this experience was unlike any other and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Lee mas

Inappropriately withheld money from deposit then tried to justify using information from another apartment. I vacated apartment on weekend so no walk through with agent. Took videos of condition which was immaculate – better operating condition and cleaner than when I moved in. Preserve withheld money for “touch up housekeeping”. I asked for documentation showing what needed to be done; had to prompt them a second time to get a response. Preserve sent photos which showed interior of an obviously... different apartment (clearly shown by comparison of video & photos). No response when confronted, no return of money withheld.

Also note that over 3-year period Preserve increased my rent every year by +10%. Current offer to new tenants about 1.6 times rate just 3.5 years ago. Possibly just greedy, possibly trying to build up reserve to pay for deteriorating infrastructure – units not that old (mine 5-6 years) but showing significant signs of poor-quality construction (concrete work, paint, carpet, structural cracks, caulking, etc.).

WRT reviews, be aware that Preserve on several occasions solicited tenants to write reviews and offered opportunity for substantial financial reward for doing so. Nominally, chance of reward was not tied to a positive review but multiple studies document that reward offers generate positive reviews – well known to marketing experts. In several respects, I’d give The Preserve & staff average to good ratings but the jumps in rent were exceptional and the attempt to pass off photos of another apartment as evidence of the condition of mine when I vacated is completely unethical. I put in for these apartments months in advance and when I moved in the staff was so helpful and it was a great experience, especially coming from the last place I lived in Casper. It is quiet and beautiful here. The staff are awesome and friendly.
