Parking: There seems to be no organization or restrictions on where to park. $100 gets you access to the garage and nothing else. Have observed cars with no handicapped placards or decals consistently parked in handicapped spaces, cars parked so that other spaces are inaccessible and barricades that were bolted into the concrete to protect exposed plumbing laying against the wall after being struck by vehicles.
Environmental: Flooding is reoccurring and blocks egress to the only vehicle... entrance to the facility on the ground floor. The facility has flooded four times since moving into my apartment in late May 2024. Along with the flooding comes the breakdown of the elevators. This occurs every time it floods. The most recent occurrence was intensified by no updates from the management and the fact that there was no attempt to install flood mitigation panels on the elevators and stairwells. The panels were just left strewn around the parking garage. Would not be a significant complaint if this were a two story building. The Atlantic on Romney is a nine story building from the ground floor. Inconvenient to say the least when coming home from work with groceries, a briefcase and a work bag. Not something to look forward to when you have to climb the stairs to the top floor. Management’s response. Use another building. I pay more to live on the top floor, not for inconveniences due to poor facility management.
Along with the reoccurring flooding is the accumulation of water, debris and lingering smells of sewage and mold in the stairwells and parking garage. This creates a breeding ground for water borne illness, bacteria and mold. There has been no cleanup after any of these flooding events.
Amenities: Mail and package delivery is problematic to say the least. I have not received multiple pieces of mail despite viewing them on the USPS dashboard. My package was refused by the management without warning or notice when they simply could have given entry to the secure designated mail room for packages. I went to the leasing office to inquire about this today 9-28-2024. The receptionist seemed happy to tell me they had refused my package and would not accept any package deliveries. She referred me to the app Fetch and said it was included in my rent. When I asked why management had not at least given me a courtesy notification that they had refused my package she declared “we don’t have to”.
