ROACHES SHOULD BE PAYING HALF THE RENT At Aspire Fossil Creek Apartments!!
I hope this helps someone considering leasing at Fossil Creek Apartments.
The biggest & most persistent issues during my time there was a cockroach infestation that never got resolved. My unit sat empty for 3 months, & even then, during cleaning visits, I started noticing roaches. Management initially blamed the previous tenant, & later said a neighbor was being evicted for being nasty & that once they left they would spray their unit and that would take care of it. Even after they moved out,... the infestation continued for the entire 3+yrs lease. Mgt refused to treat the whole bldg, only treating units separately. This approach didn’t work—it just rotated the roaches around, & the infestation never fully went away. They were more interested in cutting corners & pinching pennies than solving the issue. Meanwhile, my furniture hot infested!
I lived in Bldg 11—the same one as the model unit—& even
Bldg11 was neglected. Never washed & was constantly filthy especially the stairs & hallways. My requests for power washing was never approved. For so called Luxury Apartments!
There are visible cracks. If this is how they treat their "showcase" building, imagine the condition of the rest of the complex.
To their credit, the apartment was spacious—that’s what drew me in. But the generous sq.ft isn’t worth the constant filth, poor maintenance, and being trapped by roach infestation that mgt never truly tries to fix except mind games.
I also had recurring issues with renter's insurance fraud. Every year at lease renewal, I'd be force-billed for a new policy even though I had my own coverage that met all their requirements, with them listed as an interested party. They made it a nightmare to get those charges reversed. As we speak, they owe me for a few months of this year's forced billing. I am sure I may have to resort to legal action to recover my money since I am no longer a tenant.
After moving out, they tried to bill me for storm damage—even though I lived on the third floor and had renter’s insurance (two, in fact, thanks to their forced policy). Meanwhile, they won’t take responsibility for the cockroach damage.
Aspire Fossil Creek looks nice on the surface, but you need to tour the exact unit you're getting. Don’t fall for the space or the staged model. If you don’t mind roaches, dirty hallways, poor maintenance, and shady billing practices—this might be the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the stress and go elsewhere and thank me later!
