Overpriced and really under-secure
I was extremely excited to move into this apartment complex in a central location but immediately found it to be overpriced with poor amenities and poorly designed/built apartments.
The freshly-renovated unit had a broken laundry machine. It took 2 months for a replacement to arrive with no updates from management. After I complained, the then-Assistant Manager finally told me the building’s owner is cheap and wants multiple bids to pick the least expensive option. Other amenities (rooftop... furniture and gym equipment/HVAC) remain broken/unusable for long periods of time. Gym HVAC stopped working during heatwave, and management did not notify residents or provide alternatives for cooling and safety/
Security issues are huge issue management doesn't address. My unit was broken into and robbed. On top of this, I personally incurred cleaning fees due to the burglary. While the building did move to me another unit, management made me pay a higher rent. This new unit also had severely outdated fixtures and appliances, making it grossly overpriced then and now.
Ongoing issues include
- The “gym” is poorly equipped and always reeks of body odor.
- Package room not secure and in garage. Even with gate, people break in. A tenant could get hurt encountering a thief. Current management was unresponsive to my complaint in writing.
- Units on the very top floors are only accessible by garage elevators, which is unsettling because of car break-ins. Rear elevators are often vandalized.
- Poor window insulation everywhere, Aurora-facing apartments are especially noisy.
The maintenance team, current manager and assistant manager have been reasonable and nice to chat with. That said, this doesn’t make up for the multitude of issues I encountered. I’m very excited and relieved that I finally managed to move out of this building.
