Loud Construction, Unprofessional Management

I am a current resident. The property has 2 construction sites on either side which means loud noises starting at about 7:30am except for weekends. The small street at the front is always congested with construction vehicles.

The management team is very unprofessional and dismissive of residents' concerns after you move in.

I had an incident recently where I requested to have the exterior of my front door repainted because the paint was in bad condition and it was like that since my move in....
I was having a relative visit and wanted my apartment to look presentable.I put in a work order through the Resident portal app more than a week before my relative's arrival under "medium" priority expecting it to be taken care of within the normal timeframe for such issues I've had in the past which was about 2-3 business days.

Four days later I received an e-mail from management that my request had been cancelled because repainting the exterior of my door was not management's responsibility, but mine.

I found that odd because I didn't think it would be in the building's best interest to have a resident go choose a color or do a paint job to possibly disrupt the uniformity of the apartment door colors.

I reached out to management with my concern. After they realized what I was saying made sense, they callously responded that now I cannot paint the door myself and that they are busy and I would have to wait because they have more important things.

I asked the building manager Chanel directly if she can ask maintenance to prioritize painting my door exterior since I already waited 4 days in the work order queue and since THEY admittedly cancelled it in error, I would have to start over in the queue. I explained to her I had a relative visiting and I would really appreciate the one time gesture.

She doubled down unapologetically that I would have to WAIT, no timeframe given, because maintenance services 5 buildings.

Great Facility, Unbearable Construction

The Dillon itself is incredibly well-maintained, clean, and has great amenities. The units are equipped with laundry in-unit, Nest thermostats, and you're able to add underground parking to your lease (for a fee, but still nice!). The management team is also truly wonderful and always happy to help. If you ever need any repairs, they're very prompt.

Unfortunately, the ongoing construction right next door is pretty unbearable (there are two lots on either side of the property and both are under...
ground-up construction). On my unit's side, they're building a Target/Residential Complex so you can imagine that the noise level is pretty extreme. I'm an extremely heavy sleeper, and it wakes me up as soon as they start in the morning (usually very loud from 7-9am) then proceeds off and on throughout the day. The drilling, hammering, and conversations of the workers are often happening directly outside of my window.

I'd suggest touring during the morning when there is active construction to be aware of the noise before moving in. To be fair, the management team did inform me that there would be construction on one site before I moved in (2019), and I chose to move in anyway since I was anticipating being at work during the day. Unfortunately, construction didn't begin until just after quarantine when I began working from home, and I knowingly renewed my lease since I didn't have a ton of other living options due to COVID. If you work in an office during the week and wake up before 7, this won't affect you at all and you will love living here.

If rent prices were lowered during this construction, I would consider putting up with the noise, but it isn't worth it to me to pay the same price with these conditions. When the construction is over, The Dillon will be an absolutely amazing place to live.
