Great location, very poor management
We moved in five weeks ago to an apartment that was supposed to be completely remodeled and updated, and it's been a nightmare. Upon moving in we were greeted with the washer/dryer being in a box in the middle of the living room. They apparently ordered the wrong size. We requested multiple times for them to remove it from the living room and let us know when the replacement would be here. Five weeks later, the new one finally arrived and the Home Depot technicians discovered that the water... connectors aren't actually dispensing water. So we're still out a washer/dryer. Meanwhile, the old one is still here. We had some friends come over and help us move it into a hallway. Requests for it to be removed have been consistently ignored.
An entire wall of outlets in three rooms were lacking power. Electricians came out three times to try fix it. They tore out several feet of drywall to do it without warning, blanketing personal belongings, furniture, and food in a thick coating of white dust - they did not bother to cover anything or let me know to move things. I notified management, which said they'd send someone to clean up the mess. They never did, nor have they sent the promised person to fix and paint the drywall (it's been two weeks).
Two weeks in, the sink in the guest bathroom just started flooding out dirty water, covering the counter and floor and everything we had just unpacked and organized.
We, delivery people, and Fedex have been locked out of the front entry door multiple times. The lockbox has a number that consistently gets stuck. Other tenants said maintenance has been told and chooses to ignore it, which is unfortunate if you're expecting a package. The remote for the garage also does not work sometimes. Luckily someone else got stuck behind us trying to get in and was able to tell us that we have to get out of the car, enter the building, take the elevator to the garage, and hit a button on the gate to try manually open it.
One person who has been a help is the handyman who is occasionally dispatched. He tries to spot problems before we see them and be proactive. When he saw the drywall mess, I heard him express surprise and say something about how the place was supposed to have just been remodeled. Unfortunately, he's not in charge and is limited in what he can do.
It's all really sad because the location is beautiful and the other tenants all seem so nice, if not a bit resigned to their fate.
